There are several names for Good Friday, such as Great Friday, Black Friday, Easter Friday, or Holy Friday, and this year, it will be celebrated on April 15 in 2022. Christians traditionally do not eat meat on Good Friday, and instead, eat hot cross buns. A few people, however, eat fish instead. The reason for eating fish is that it is believed to be a different kind of flesh because it comes from the sea. During the time when Christianity had been banned, Christians believed fish shapes could be used as secret symbols for identifying one another. Many Christians followed Jesus Christ and also worked as fishermen. Bread dough would be kneaded and braided a week before Good Friday, as preparation for the meal would start a week before.
